Always innovating, apser has reached an agreement with the Dutch business simulation company Simagine . Simagine is a leading company in the business simulation market , working with all types of organizations (universities, public bodies, consultancies, large corporations, and SMEs, among others) to help them implement the ITIL methodology . They are also accustomed to working with international partners, collaborating on the development, distribution, and implementation of their business simulations and other tools. Before introducing these simulations to their clients, apser took advantage of the team's annual meeting to test them firsthand, and the result was certainly interesting. ITIL expert Marteen Versteegh (co-founder of Simagine) used a game to highlight the importance of communication between different departments within a company to achieve a common goal: the smooth operation and growth of the business. In just four hours, Versteegh managed to make us commit the typical errors we often make when carrying out internal company processes. The interesting thing was that we experienced these errors firsthand thanks to the dynamics of the game, rather than through a typical one-sided explanation. As the game progressed, we improved through an almost instinctive (albeit guided) application of the ITIL methodology. Business simulations allow participants to experience and recognize their organization's problems, creating a foundation for learning and change . Furthermore, participants can adopt a role different from their usual work, experiencing what it's like to be in a colleague's shoes, becoming aware of the problems customers encounter when communicating with them, and ultimately understanding how to address these problems by applying best practices .
