Which one es la BEST cloud to storage?

What is the best cloud for storage?

As IT experts and heads of the IT department in our company, we work daily with the aim of providing the best solutions to our team. This leads us to rely more and more on technological proposals that are confirming as new trends in the business environment. Inevitably, this implies adopting online storage measures. Which is the best cloud? Which option should be trusted to ensure the best performance for the company? On this occasion, we will make a comparison of the main alternatives of cloud storage in order to reach a definitive conclusion.

Five contenders to watch out for

One of the main ideas that crosses the minds of IT experts is to turn to Dropbox, which has stood out as one of the best services, and forget about the possible alternatives. Although it is true that this can save time and effort, it is not a bad idea to have the opportunity to analyze other options. In this sense, to see how far each option goes, in this comparison we will consider four alternatives: Onedrive, iCloud Drive, Box and Google Drive. What features should be valued in these options to evaluate their choice? One of the things to focus on is the platform with which they offer compatibility. It is common for cloud services to work to offer the widest range of compatibility, but there are some differences. Offering a good connection environment is positive because it will indicate how easy it will be to adjust the use of the cloud to the different needs of the company on a day-to-day basis. That is why it is important to ensure that support is provided for the main platforms, both mobile and PC systems. All the options we have discussed agree on providing support for iOS, Android, Windows, OS X and the Web, so in this sense there is no problem when making a decision. The amount of storage provided for free is a notable fact. This is where the differences begin to be seen. Dropbox It only offers 2GB, the smallest amount of all the proposals, although in the business environment it is not something that should be particularly worrying. The amount increases in iCloud Drive, where it becomes 5GB. With Box The capacity rises to 10GB and finally the maximum capacity becomes 15GB in both OneDrive and Google Drive. In contrast to this, we can give more importance to the storage that is provided on a paid basis, aspect in which Dropbox, iCloud Drive and Onedrive match with a maximum of 1TB. Google Drive goes further with 30TB and Box reaches the maximum with unlimited capacity. Here comes into play the decision of what each account we contract will need in the business environment, but many professionals have stressed that 1TB is more than enough and that anything else is excessive.

Reference functionalities

Not everything in the cloud is related to storage, but taking care of functionality is also a factor of great relevance. After all, from the IT department it is important that not only is a good service contracted, but that it provides options so that we can be carefree in a certain way. Application integration is highly valued. Dropbox does not integrate, while Onedrive does it with Office, iCloud Drive with apps designed by Apple and Google Drive with the remarkable service environment signed by the developer itself. Box, although it stands out in storage, is not efficient in this sense as it does not have integration either. With all this in mind, we can come to a conclusion about what each cloud storage option offers and what it doesn't. Dropbox is very complete and has a very appropriate service, Box has its character of unlimited storageiCloud Drive has the advantage of being suitable for OS X and iOS, while OneDrive takes advantage of everything that Office 365 offers. No less important, Google Drive knows how to benefit from everything that Google has done in other directions to make collaboration between different users possible. With this information you should be able to reach a conclusion about which is the best option for your company. But we can only say that, as we pointed out before, Dropbox usually scores the most points when it comes to taking stock.   We also recommend that you read this free guide en PDF to continue reading on this topic: https://mkt.apser.es/ebook-itaas-la-transformacion-digital-llega-a-las-pymes
