AWS Well-Architected Review

Align your platform with AWS best practices

AWS Well-Architected
Helps cloud architects build secure, high-performance, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for a variety of applications and workloads on Amazon Web Services
6 pillars
Built around six pillars, this framework provides a consistent approach that makes it possible to both assess your architectures on AWS and implement scalable designs.
Review and continuous improvement
Amazon Web Services has designed the Well-Architected Framework Review with the goal of implementing a continuous and procedural review and improvement process that allows the client to improve their workloads on AWS

The 6 Pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework

Operational Excellence
The Operational Excellence pillar focuses on the execution and monitoring of systems and the constant optimization of processes and procedures. The definition of standards to manage daily operations, the automation of changes or the response to events would be among the points to be reviewed.
Security
The Security pillar focuses on the protection of information and systems. The administration and management of user permissions, the integrity and confidentiality of data and the establishment of controls for the detection of security events are among the factors to be analyzed.
Reliability
Designing distributed systems, planning for disaster or error recovery, and adapting to changing requirements would be part of the analysis of the Reliability pillar, which focuses on checking that the workloads perform the expected functions and how they can recover from possible errors to meet real demand.
Unlimited
The Performance Effectiveness pillar focuses specifically on the proper allocation of computing resources. Key factors to review include: How resource types and sizes are being selected to ensure they are optimized for the needs of each workload How we are monitoring the performance of our systems How we are ensuring we maintain efficiency as business needs change
Cost Optimization
The objective of the Cost Optimization pillar is to avoid unnecessary expenses for the client. What are its key topics? Understanding expenses over time Controlling the allocation of funds Selecting resources in the right measure (both in type and quantity) Scaling as a way of meeting the needs of the company without incurring excessive expenses
Sustainability
The Sustainability pillar focuses on minimizing the environmental impact of running workloads in the cloud. The shared responsibility model for sustainability, understanding the environmental impact of our systems, and maximizing use in order to minimize the resources needed and reduce the subsequent impact are some of the main topics to be addressed in the review under this pillar.
What resources should I have?

Although we at apser will try to do our best for you, your contribution will be necessary to help us understand certain aspects of your platform. We estimate that you will have to invest approximately 4 hours Distributed over three meetings, these meetings will help us align your needs with your systems, while detecting potential optimization points.

Why should I count on apser?

The involvement of apser professionals, with extensive experience in multiple types of platforms, will help you speed up the processWith the AWS Well-Architected Tool + apser team in conjunction, you will have a mechanism to regularly assess workloads, identify high-risk issues, and record improvements, which will greatly contribute to the Continuous improvement of your systems.

Phase 1: Overview

Kickoff Meeting Together, we will identify: - Your main business processes and the applications that support them - Your company's main information systems - Problems, trends and bottlenecks

Phase 2: Analysis

Analysis process Complete analysis in light of the 6 pillars of the Well-Architected Framework

Phase 3: Roadmap

Backlog Proposal Based on the results obtained in the previous section, establish the improvement actions to be carried out and prepare a plan according to priorities.

Phase 4: Remediations

Application of Improvements Execution of the agreed set of improvements.
