Image auto tagging solution

Apser has developed Magnifier, a cloud solution that offers a secure environment where authorized users can upload images and videos to the cloud for automated tag extraction (powered by Amazon Rekognition). The tool can also identify and reuse pre-existing EXIF tags (such as capture date, geographic coordinates, camera model, etc.).

Once this classification is complete, the auto-tagging solution stores the multimedia content with its tags, allowing for immediate viewing or download through a simple and user-friendly interface that allows users to accumulate search filters using free-text terms. Finally, users can enrich the description of each multimedia file by manually adding additional metadata (tags), either in bulk or individually.

In this way, a centralized repository of corporate multimedia content is created , scalable immediately and with default backup in various geographical areas, which helps us to prevent each user from creating personal collections on their work computer and, at the same time, allows the deletion for all users of inappropriate or irrelevant images, thus avoiding communication errors.

Use Case Example

A well-known NGO had accumulated a large collection of digital images used in its communication and promotional campaigns (social media, management reports, mailing lists, brochures, etc.). The staff who used these images were scattered across different locations and, for various reasons, had created their own collections of alternative images on their respective work computers. The graphic content of these images was very diverse (landscapes, people, vehicles, activities, tools, etc.).

During implementation, all images were consolidated into a single cloud repository and automatically tagged . The resulting database was then created. Next, authorized users (with viewing/modification privileges) were created, and NGO staff were encouraged to use the solution to upload new images, automatically tag them, and manually enrich the tags. Immediately, and without any additional training, the Apser solution became the company's standard tool for storing and accessing digital images.
