Apser promotes the HPC-Cloud group of the Aragón DIH

Last June, the activity of the newly formed group of HPC – Cloud of the Aragon IHL in which Apser is one of institutions promoters, as a company Expert in hyperscale cloud projects and official AWS Advanced Level Partner (Amazon Web Services). Specifically, the group established the work plan for the second half of 2022.

Are you ready to harness the full power of the cloud? We can help you achieve it.

References in digitalization

With the objective of Facilitate the digital transformation of Aragonese companies and institutions, the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITAINNOVA), the Aragonese Institute for Development (IAF) And University of Zaragoza, as well as numerous institutions in the business field, have created the Aragon Digital Innovation Hub with the firm aim of making the region a European benchmark in terms of industrial digitalisation.

El HPC-Cloud group It aims to put at the service of the entire regional ecosystem a set of resources, actions, services and evangelization initiatives with the aim of facilitate access by companies and institutions to technological infrastructures and services capable of accelerating digital projects that require large computing capacities on demand, such as simulation and numerical calculation processes, training of artificial intelligence and machine learning modes, calculation-intensive processes (i.e. genomics, rendering, etc.), analytics and big data, etc.

Likewise, the HPC-Cloud group puts all its capacity at the service of other digitalization initiatives promoted by the Aragón DIH such as the robotics, IoT, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, big data, etc.

The HPC-Cloud group is coordinated by the Institute of Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems (BIFI) of the University of Zaragoza and is made up of several relevant companies such as Certest Biotec, Grupo Sesé, Electroingenium and Apser as a cloud service provider linked to the AWS hyperscale cloud.

HPC and Cloud: Accelerating Innovation

Talking about High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud is talking about scalability, high performance and high availability on a pay-per-use model. This allows for the processing of large volumes of data in parallel and without service interruptions, supported by a large storage capacity.

Suppliers such as Amazon Web Services, of which Apser is Advanced Consulting Partner, offer their own HPC-Cloud solutions based on the Amazon EC2 elastic computing service, on storage services such as Amazon FSx or Amazon S3, and on orchestration services such as AWS Parallel Cluster or AWS Batch.

The combination of these services ensures the implementation of computing solutions of High performance, robust, scalable, flexible, secure and cost-optimized (use of SPOT type instances).
